The markets served by BMCI serve as a testimony to the breadth and diversity of BMCI composites and their properties. BMCI's primary focus is on metal and costly engineering thermoplastic (ETP) replacement. We seek opportunities to consolidate parts with more complex molded designs, reduced secondary operations and improved end use performance qualities. Parts manufactured using die cast aluminum and injection molded ETPs can be produced for less with BMC.
The markets that specify BMC over other materials do so for many reasons. A primary driver is cost. Volumetrically, BMC is less expensive than aluminum and ETPs. BMC also provides significant processing design and weight advantages over die cast and drawn metallics. ETPs share in the advantagfes involved with molding, but do not have the extraordinary modulus or Tg associated with BMC. BMC maintains impressive properties long after ETPs have returned to a liquid state.
BMC provides value with properties that are engineered specifically for the end use. BMC is a complete composite solution.
